We have a number of large events taking place during this month here on the Plymouth Barbican, including the unmissable annual ABB Barbican Raft Race!

Plymouth Seafood Festival (20-22nd)

Highly popular last year the Plymouth Seafood Festival sees crowds of people enjoying the quayside fish markets and demonstrations, an event not to be missed with dishes being prepared right before your eyes by top chefs.
The Cookery Theatre will be packed with demonstrations of freshly caught local fish being prepared in a variety of mouth-watering dishes.
Hear from local fishermen Ben Squire and Sid the Squid as they talk about the sustainable fishing methods they use.
On Saturday 21st, 3pm This leads onto the fish filleting championship as 5 line up to go head to head in a speed filleting contest! Knifes at the ready!
While the parent’s stomachs rumbling at the sights of the fish dishes being prepared, the little ones can take part in the crabbing contest outside The Boathouse Café. 11am on Sunday 22nd, entrance fee £5 includes equipment (crab line, bait and bucket). 2pm – official weigh in and prizes awarded to the winner and runners up.
Along with the seafood demonstrations, street performers will be amongst the crowds including Jonty Depp aka Captain Jack Sparrow!
The National Marine Aquarium will also be holding activities related too.
